This is a Canadian-made ZIPPO featuring the Canadian coat of arms. The slim-size ZIPPO lighter is intricately crafted, with the Canadian coat of arms engraved and meticulously colored.
The ZIPPO Canada factory was the only factory operating outside the United States, but it was closed in 2002. This particular ZIPPO made in 1999 is a rare piece manufactured at the now-defunct Canadian factory.
The bottom of the lighter is stamped with “NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO,” a mark indicating it was produced at the ZIPPO Canada factory, which was located in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The inside unit (the lighter’s interior mechanism) also bears the same “NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO” engraving.
A warranty and instruction manual specific to Canada are included with this lighter. Notably, because Canada has two official languages—English and French—the documentation is written in both languages.
